The last few days have been fun. I visited Lansing our state's capital last week for the first time. Lots of photos were taken by both my friend Dominique and I. As well as touring other local places of interest the rest of the time has been spent in craft stores.
Visiting craft stores isn't unusual for me, I'm often found in the fine artist and wood craft aisles. But this time I have been looking at all kinds of pretty papers and embellishments. I know scrap booking is big in America but I have always been too busy with other art and craft projects.
Dominique is in to making scrap books in a big way! It started with making her own greetings cards, something I used to do myself and got Dominique interested in. It has taken a Brit to come over here to get me started.
So hopefully today we will pick up our developed photos and start scrapping! About time I did something with all those photos taken of the children over the years. Not to mention all the ones I took of my visit to Britain last year. Looks like I'm going to be busy!
Also I'm giving everyone a reminder about the fundraiser for the Macomb-Oakland Regional Center (MORC). They are sponsoring "Windows Of Opportunity" to raise funds for various programs in the arts for people with disabilities.
MORC had collected 100 wooden windows from houses in SE Michigan and were hoping to have artists turn these discarded windows into works of art. The windows will be on display this Saturday at:
